See it. Shoot it. No fuss.
Our smartphones enable us to create anywhere, at any moment. It is not just a way of shooting, it's a mindset that invites awareness and instinct. With no setup or fuss, the focus stays on the joy of seeing and responding.
Since the early 2010s, the iPhone has been my only camera. With each new model comes new possibilities: more light, more detail, more ways to look at the world. Steve Jobs's principle, "It just works," still defines the iPhone today; hardware and software working in harmony. When everything just works, creativity takes over. That's the heart of how I use the iPhone for photography.
In my Creative Smartphone Photography presentation, I aim to inspire photographers to trust their phone as much as their instincts. Always popular and consistently well received, this talk is shaped by years of sharing practical, creative techniques with enthusiastic audiences. Suitable for iOS and Android users and even non-smartphone users walk away inspired. The most common reaction is: “I had no idea you could do all that with just a phone!”.
Adjust. Create. On mobile.
In a world dominated by apps full of AI hype and endless subscription traps, Snapseed keeps our photo editing grounded in craft; simple tools, strong results, no fuss, and completely free.
My companion presentation to Creative Smartphone Photography concentrates on the Snapseed app by Google which offers clean, precise controls without clutter, confusion or paywalls. It’s fast, intuitive and works on both iPhone and Android, making it one of the most accessible editing apps out there. No monthly fees, no locked features, just solid tools that let you shape your images the way you want.
In this session, I’ll walk you through the workflow I use on my own photos: the core adjustments, the subtle refinements and the creative retouches that bring an image to life. By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of how to edit with confidence and get strong results with a simple, repeatable process.
